What was measured once degrades silently

GTO Vigía is the reliability contract: online monitoring, monthly compliance reporting, scheduled thermography and priority service. It sustains the result of all four families after construction — and also services systems installed by others.

What it covers

Five things that degrade if nobody watches them

The diagnostic gives you a snapshot. The reliability contract gives you the movie. It is the difference between knowing how your plant was on the day we measured and knowing how it is today.

01

Power factor and Grid Code (Código de Red) compliance

Monthly report of the actual status, measured by interval and not by average. It is the data your bill does not give you and that an authority requirement will ask you for.

02

Scheduled thermography

Panels, splices and connections checked with an infrared camera under actual load conditions. The hot spot shows up months before it burns.

03

Protection coordination

Reviewed against the actual installation and recalculated when the plant has grown. Without that, a local fault takes everything down and nobody can explain why.

04

Generation and asset performance

Solar, storage and backup generators: actual production and availability against commitments, with the load tests almost nobody performs.

05

Priority service

When something fails, you do not join the queue. The response time is in the contract, not in goodwill.

Why this is a contract and not a per-incident service

A one-off report is useless: the value is in the series. Twelve months of documented compliance is what you show the authority, your corporate customer or whoever finances your next project — and it is what gets a finding addressed when it costs one hundred, not ten thousand.

The silent loss

None of these things shuts the system down. All of them make it generate less.

Accumulated dust, a disconnected string, an inverter in partial failure, a hot connection, an open bypass diode. The system stays on, monitoring stays green, and the owner finds out when the bill stops dropping as expected — usually two years late.

Annual generation relative to year oneWith and without maintenance
70%80% 90%100% the gap year 123 4567
With maintenance — module degradation only Without maintenance

Illustrative curves: natural module degradation is unavoidable and is covered by the manufacturer's warranty; the gap that opens below it is not. What the service contract buys is not the upper curve, it is the distance between the two.

The three levels

Specific response times and the price of each level are finalized with the internal costing model. This table is the structure of the service, not the price list.

What we report

We do not report activities. We report status against commitments.

Each report answers a single question: did your installation deliver what it was supposed to this period, yes or no? And if not, why and what we are going to do. A report that lists visits and cleanings does not tell you whether your investment is performing or whether your plant is still compliant.

01

Expected generation

The design value, adjusted for the period's actual irradiance — not the brochure's.

02

Actual generation

Measured, broken down by inverter and by string when the level includes it.

03

The difference, explained

And with an assigned action: what is done, by whom and when.

Third-party systems

We service installations done by others

We start with a condition survey: what was actually installed, what condition it is in, and how much generation is being lost today. In several cases that survey alone has recovered production that had been lost for years.

We do not ask you to switch suppliers, and we do not speak badly of whoever installed it. We measure and hand you the result.

The survey includes
  1. Actual inventory of modules, inverters and protection
  2. String and continuity verification
  3. Thermography of modules, panels and connections
  4. Structure and anchoring review
  5. Comparison of historical generation against expected
  6. Status of monitoring and communications
  7. List of findings with priority and estimated cost

Questions

What clients ask before hiring us

How often should modules be washed?
In much of Mexico, with dust and months without rain, the useful frequency is usually higher than people assume. But the right answer comes from measuring: generation data shows when soiling is already costing more than cleaning, and that is the time to wash.
Does the service contract cover equipment replacement?
No. The service contract covers operation, maintenance and diagnostics. Equipment that fails under warranty is handled with the manufacturer — we manage the process — and equipment no longer under warranty is quoted separately. We state this in the contract so there are no surprises.
Do I need monitoring installed?
For the Essential level it is not essential: we can work with periodic readings. For Active and Total it is, because without continuous data there is no way to detect a partial loss in time. If your system does not have it, we quote it as a prior step.
And if my system is fine and nothing happens?
It is the best possible outcome and also the most common in the first year. The service contract is not disaster insurance: it is what keeps the generation curve up in year five, which is where it is decided whether the investment delivered what was promised.
When it is not for you

If your system is small and residential, a formal service contract will probably cost more than it recovers. You are better off with per-incident cleaning and a review every couple of years.
